Convergence Ministries (Missoula, Montana)

Working with Treasure State Baptist Association, Brentwood Baptist helped fund a new church plant called Convergence Ministries in the rapidly growing city of Missoula, Montana that launched in September. Under the leadership of Rich Ratts and his family, this church plant has long been preparing for this appointed time.

In many ways, Convergence is descriptive of the varied and diverse culture that exists in Missoula. The mission statement for the new church correlates with the meaning of the word “convergence,” which is derived from the letter “e” seen three times in the word. Their vision for Convergence Ministries is to see people encounter God, experience community, and engage culture.

Since 2005, our church has partnered with this new work. After 3 years of prayer, the Ratts family finally arrived in Missoula. This past June, a team of Brentwood Baptist members went on a mission journey to Missoula to help prepare Convergence for their launch.

Convergence Facts:

  • Convergence Ministries launched on September 2, 2009 with 98 people at their first gathering.
  • The attendance of nearly 100 people makes Convergence the fifth largest Southern Baptist Church in Montana.

Pray For:

  • The Convergence Ministries family as they continue to sow seeds of the gospel and cultivate those seeds through loving acts of service.
  • Strength for the team so they would not grow weary in doing well because a great harvest waits—not only in Missoula, but in each of Montana’s city areas.
  • A strong attendance and renewal of the people of Missoula at the weekly gatherings and community groups.
