November HFW Feature: Chinese Congregation
<<< Back to News
Brentwood Baptist Chinese Congregation
In 2004, our church began a Chinese Ministry with four families who met on a weekly basis in a small group. Today, there are more than 80 active members, including children, in the Chinese congregation. Two Sunday school classes and one monthly worship service are currently taking place. They also have several small groups that meet throughout the week. The only thing holding them back from adding another class is the lack of space!
Each year, the Chinese Ministry hosts a revival, bringing in a special guest speaker and inviting Chinese people from across Middle Tennessee to hear the gospel. This year’s revival took place in September with a guest speaker, Dr. Ray Chen, an evangelist and professor at University of Texas in Austin, Texas. More than 150 people attended and 24 professed Christ as their Lord and Savior! Two women will be baptized THIS Sunday to join the Chinese congregation.
Brentwood Baptist supports our local Chinese Ministry and will fund a Chinese Minister through our Hope For The World Missions Offering.
Pray For:
- Julie Wong and Yang Pan, who have both chosen to join the church family through baptism.
- Continued discipleship for those individuals who professed Christ as their Savior at the revival.
- The Chinese congregation just elected a new leadership team. Pray for a smooth transition and wisdom for these new leaders.
- The Chinese Minister Search Team as they seek God’s will for the right leader.
