About:
Started in 1999 by Fish Hoek Baptist Church in Cape Town, South Africa, to address the AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa, Living Hope Community Centre now has five locations in the southern part of the Cape. Over 25 percent of the population is infected with HIV / AIDS-what the UN has called the "greatest catastrophe in human history." Ministering holistically to those living with HIV / AIDS, Living Hope provides medical services, abstinence education, job creation, life skills training and food to thousands each year. Over 1,000 people have accepted Christ through Living Hope in the last seven years. Over 60 of our members have served personally in South Africa, assisting our Living Hope partners in all these areas as well as in music and infrastructure development. Brentwood Baptist members Ashley and Ryan (Lovell) Dalton are serving full time with Living Hope along with members Mike and Pam Talley and Danielle Schneider. BBC plans on at least five mission teams to serve in South Africa in 2009.
